The library of battles
I was at all of them. Every field in this archive I stood on while it was still loud.
The men who died there had names. Most went into the ground with them, and the histories that survive kept the commanders and the casualty figures instead. I kept the rest.
One song for each battle, one page for each song. The page gives the history as it is documented, sources and disputes included. Then you can hear what I made of it.

Lately written into the ledger
- 1863 The Battle of Gettysburg The American Civil War The assault reached the wall at one point and was destroyed there: the high-water mark of the Confederacy, and the end of the invasion of the North
- 1862 The Battle of Fredericksburg The American Civil War One of the most one-sided Union defeats of the war; no assault on the stone wall ever reached it
- 1836 The Battle of the Alamo The Texas Revolution The mission stormed before dawn on the thirteenth day; the garrison killed almost to the last man
- 1812 Napoleon's Retreat from Moscow The French invasion of Russia The destruction of the largest army Europe had ever assembled, mostly without a battle: about 112,000 of 612,000 recrossed the frontier

Why follow?
Spotify no longer recommends music it identifies as made with AI, unless the listener follows the artist. Lady Death is made with AI, so a follow is the only way new records will reach you there: in Release Radar, in your recommendations, and on release day. Playing a song helps. Following helps far more.
Four albums and an EP, twenty-nine songs in all. Twenty-one are battles, running from Kadesh in 1274 BC to Gettysburg. The rest are what I say between them.
